Dr. Jennifer Walden Talks Facelifts and Rhinoplasties

Things change over time. New beauty and fashion trends are introduced to the market each day, and keeping up can seem impossible. As time and trends change, so do our bodies and how we feel about them. Factors such as stress, sun exposure, gravity and skin care products all affect our skin and its appearance. One of the most common factors women face is accepting body changes. Fortunately, there is a variety of minimally invasive procedures that can help reverse the effects of time and aging.

Rhytidectomies, or Facelifts, can significantly help reverse the signs of aging by targeting and strengthening the muscles in your face and removing excess skin and fat. Another common procedure for simple modification is a Rhinoplasty. These common procedures allow patents the opportunity to reconstruct, reshape or resize the nose. Aside from personal enhancement, this outpatient procedure can also aid in the treatment of conditions related to the sinus cavity.

Dr. Jennifer Walden is a board certified plastic surgeon based in Austin, TX. Growing up in a close-knit family with a passion for helping others, Walden has long had a desire to follow in her parent’s footsteps. After graduating from Anderson High School, she earned an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Texas. Itching to get a jump start on her career, she quickly applied to medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she was placed on the waitlist. Though most college students dread the thought of being waitlisted, Dr. Walden kept her focus, and soon started the program.

Following her graduation, and a nearly eight-year fellowship with the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat hospital, Dr. Walden decided to build her own practice. Reflecting on her professional accomplishments gave time for her to reflect on her personal life. Feeling that her time was running out, and with no potential prospects for marriage, she began exploring other options to start a family. After three rounds of IVF, Dr. Walden soon became the proud mother to twin sons Houston and Rex. Shortly after their birth, she returned to Austin and reestablished her practice with the help of dedicated family and friends.
